2012 new Mini Rocketman concept in Geneva

Mini was first seen in the 1950's and since it was first brought to the motoring market it has changed in design and feel in many ways. However it has stayed true to its routes from the 50's, at the Geneva motor show the newest concept in the Mini story was unveiled.

At the show it was not clear whether this new model would make it into production or if it was just a snazzy concept. The bosses have however now hinted that the new Mini Rocketman could actually be put into production. The Mini Rocketman is a smaller more compact version of the existing Mini range and would launch the car into a newer market.

The BMW Group said the debut of the Rocketman Concept was stage-managed by London-based film artist, photographer and director Marcus Tomlinson, who also made a short art film for the car featuring Model and actress Lily Cole.

MINI's new concept model is supposed to hark back to the classic Mini in terms of its exterior dimensions while keeping up with the times in terms of safety requirements and occupant space, and also provide a glimpse into the firm's future design language.
